This style of architecture is based on the biological premise that it feels good to be surrounded by nature. Plants, trees, water, and a comfortable temperature are the right ingredients to satisfy our fundamental human needs.

In these conditions, we relax as we produce fewer stress hormones. We then have more energy to dedicate to thinking and creativity. Biophilic architecture blends the indoors with the outdoors to create a tranquilizing and inspirational setting for an optimal experience.

Biophilic designers include natural plants, but they also use natural lighting more effectively. Sounds, animals, fire (such as candles and torches), as well as other elements, are part of biophilic design principles.
