The sundial is a timeless invention that was first used to record time on Earth. Now it's used in space exploration to figure out time beyond Earth.

Sundials are the first known objects used to measure time. Their innovation and ingenuity are timeless, so much so that sundials are used to understand time on Mars and on the Moon (see the image below).
